About Gijs Ten Kate
In all my different roles in my working life I have served individuals as a personal coach, be it managers, leaders or performance artists. First as theatre director of several performers. From 1993 until 2006 as Strategy Director and Partner with FHV/BBDO. Subsequently I established Ten Kate Partners, in which I operate as a board room consultant, strategist and organization coach for famous brands and large and medium-sized businesses. These include Grolsch, Rabobank, Aon, Douwe Egberts, TNT Post, Friesland Dairy Foods, ING Bank, De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, Insinger de Beaufort and the South-African National Women Hockey Team at the London Olympic Games 2012.
I have also held roles including Chairman of the Buddhist Broadcast Foundation, member of the Board of the Van Ede Foundation, member of the board of Natuurmonumenten and lecturer at different Universities and courses. I studied International Law at Leyden University and attended the Leyden Columbia Summer Course in American Law. I also attended the leadership course in Personal Transformation at Cranfield University. I am a certified Insights Discovery Practitioner and have studied the two modules of Human Givens Psychotherapy.
My book “The Triangle Principles of Balanced Leadership” was nominated Management Book of the Year in Holland in 2006, and “The Hard Truth of Soft Values” (De Harde Waarheid over Zachte Waarden) on CSR in a business context, was nominated Management Book of the Year in Belgium in 2004. In 1999 my poems were published in ‘Things Go Silently’ (Stil Gaan De Dingen).
